30 Jun “Seeds of Hope” Gala Raises $150,000

Care and Counseling is pleased to announce that the Annual Gala held on May 3rd , 2017 was a great success.  Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, attendees and all who supported the event, the organization raised more than $150,000 to support our mission.

This year’s event was held at the Grand Hall on Chouteau and featured live entertainment by Joiya along with a silent and live auction.  The 250 attendees had an opportunity to learn more about Care and Counseling from Executive Director, Amy Bertschausen who spoke about the important work and mission of Care and Counseling.  Keynote speaker, Michael Wellington, author of “Birdies Bogeys and BiPolar Disorder” spoke on his personal struggles with mental health and the need for quality and accessible mental health services in our community.

Care and Counseling was honored to present the “Heart of Care and Counseling” award to long-time supporter and Board Member Betsy Douglass.

“The annual gala is such a wonderful night for Care and Counseling,” said Rev. Amy Bertschausen, Executive Director of Care and Counseling. “It’s a chance to celebrate the mission of Care and Counseling with long-time friends as well as many who are just learning of the important work we do in the community.”  “In addition, the funds raised from this event allow Care and Counseling to continue offering a wide welcome to all who come to us seeking help regardless of financial resources or access to insurance.”

We are looking forward to next year when Care and Counseling celebrate 50 years of service to the St. Louis community.

Thank you again to “Seeds of Hope” corporate sponsors:  World Wide Technology, The Steward Family Foundation, Centene Charitable Foundation, Delmar Gardens, Drury Hotels, Nidec Corporation, Washington University George Warren School of Social Work, US Bank and Mercy.
