Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work from Washington University

Professional Accreditation: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, State of Missouri

Clients: Adolescents and adults

Insurance: Aetna, Beacon Health Options (formerly Value Options), Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Tricare

Specialties: At times we all struggle with emotional pain that disrupts our lives and keeps us from feeling fully connected with ourselves and others. My goal in therapy is to provide a safe environment for individuals to explore their feelings and identify their needs while connecting with themselves. I enjoy weaving my love for mindfulness and acceptance based theories and techniques into therapy sessions when needed. I have been working in the mental health field for 18 years and have experience working with adults with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship stress, body image/eating issues, and post-partum mood disorders.

My specialty is working with women of all ages as they navigate through life stages such as the transition to college/work and the transition to motherhood. These times often bring with them challenges with identity, life purpose, mood, body image and weight struggles, or general health issues.

“Be patient with everything unresolved in your heart and try to live the questions themselves…the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then, gradually without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” -Ranier Maria Rilke

Austin Wilmot, MSW, LCSW

Whether this is your first time seeking treatment or have prior experiences with psychotherapy, it takes courage to seek out help. I have experience treating all age groups with an in-depth approach, beginning with meeting you where you are and working to understand the difficulties being faced. I work in a private and confidential setting, combining my knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist with an understanding of how inner conflicts and dilemmas impact development and functioning from infancy through adulthood. I am skilled at working with parents to explore and address emotional and behavioral concerns. My advanced training benefits short and long term work.

I offer a space that fosters fuller experiencing and understanding of one’s inner emotional life, including feelings, thoughts, dreams and fantasies. In connection with me, one’s symptoms and problematic patterns can become understood in new ways, leading to emotional growth and a greater capacity to make meaningful changes in one’s life.

In my work with children, I provide a variety of mediums for play and other forms of expression, facilitating many avenues of access to the child’s inner world. It is with my skills and understanding that I help build up emotional muscle, mastery of feelings and restore progressive psychological development.
